GLBC has an excellent reputation for hospitality and great food at our congresses and we're hoping our Swiss Teams Congress on 8-9 February 2020 is no exception. So again, we are seeking sweet and savoury goodies for both days. Please add your name to the list on the clubhouse noticeboard to register your intention.  

The 2020 Programme (orange) booklet has missed showing four events as being RED Points Events (R) in the body of the booklet, i.e. within the monthly calendar pages. Please update your booklet as follows:

Welcome back and happy bridging for 2020!

Our club is again running free bridge lessons for beginners - at the clubhouse each Tuesday for 6 weeks. That's from 25 February until 7 April 2020, from 1:30 to 3:30pm. This is an opportunity for our members to promote the game and our wonderful club to friends and family. Call Lynne or Dick on 6554 7256  to register.

On Monday 9 December, following our annual awards presentation, over 100 of our members enjoyed a lovely lunch, trivia, riddles and some hilarious jokes. A huge thank you goes to our committee and organisers for this and all of our other successful events throughout the year. Their efforts continue to help our club thrive, and their dedication is very much appreciated!

For 2020, full membership of the Great Lakes Bridge Club (GLBC) costs $30 and associate membership costs $10. Payments before the end of January 2020 can be made by cash, cheque or via direct debit to Great Lakes Bridge Club Inc.

On the 1st Friday of each month, our members let their hair down and enjoy dinner (often pizza), wine and bridge in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. Last Friday night was no exception - pictured is long-time and highly-valued GLBC member, Don Scown carving the Xmas ham for the happy attendees. Why not join in on the fun next year? All welcome!
