Club room named in honor of Gwen Perkins

At our last session for 2025, Great Lakes Bridge Club President Uve Andersen named the playing area in memory of a much-loved club founder, Gwen Perkins. Gwen's son thanked the club for the honour, adding that his mother would have been both pleased and humbled by the dedication. 

One of our club's grand ladies, Gwen passed away in February 2025. From joining in 1981, she became an intrinsic member, directing and holding countless executive roles over the next 20 years. An excellent teacher and mentor, Gwen was always ready and willing to support new players. She made sure everyone grew to love bridge - both the social and competitive sides.
