Vale Dick Barry

Sadly, Great Lakes Bridge Club lost one of our leading lights last week when Dick Barry passed away. 

Dick was our President and Vice President and taught bridge lessons to our beginners for many years. Despite having no formal bridge lessons himself, he happily encouraged and advised many bridge students with his casual, friendly and laid-back approach. Dick was also very involved in our local community, from raising money back in the 70s for the preschool next door to organising Rotary Christmas Carols and annual Book Fairs. He was Head Teacher of Science at Forster High School until he retired whereupon he and wife Lynne travelled the world. 

Our love and thoughts are with Dick's wife and family.
