New Players Celebrate Teachers and Club Spirit at GLBC

Earlier this week the 'newbies' of 2025 banded together to acknowledge and thank their teachers - Sylvia Goodwin and Shirley Craig - for providing an outstanding introduction to the wonderful world of bridge. These ladies' practical, nurturing approach and extensive 7-month series of beginner and extension lessons really enabled learners to continually develop the basic skills and confidence needed to take their places at the 'real' bridge tables. 

GLBC was praised for providing such a unique and comprehensive induction program. Sincere gratitude was also expressed to those club members playing on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Hi-Lo days for their welcoming attitudes, encouragement, partnerships and patience as the newcomers found their footings over time.

The new players remarked that this spirit of inclusivity has made their entry into the club so easy and joyful, and they look forward to continuing to grow their skills while contributing to the friendly, supportive community that has already given them such a positive start.  .....Fiona Lewis
