41st Congress Teams Event - another great day of bridge

The second day of our Great Lakes Bridge Club (GLBC) 41st Congress on Sunday 2 March 2025 saw some hard-fought battles during play in both sections. And plenty of friendly banter in-between. Congratulations to the winners of both the Intermediate and Open Teams events (pictured below).

Congratulations also go to the Congress organisers and volunteer workers in the background who spent countless hours preparing boards, tables, cards and other minutiae necessary for such a large group. And to those who sought sponsors, prepared and served food and organised our convivial and successful event.

Special thanks also go to Director Ronnie Ng and Assistant Director Denise Marr (pictured below) for two days of smooth and efficient organisation and direction.

But mostly, we thank the participants. The widespread support of players of all levels was very encouraging to behold. The sight of so many new players venturing into the world of teams' competition augurs well for the future of bridge in our region and beyond. (And nothing beats a face-to-face congress with lots of social chatter and laughter, and of course, a 'country spread' of delicious food!)
