Club Pairs Championship

Congratulations to Pauline Erby and Judy Scott on their win.

We had 32 pairs entered in the event.  A strong and competitive spirit was evident during the 3 days.  As each Draw reflected the results of the previous round Pairs moved around the 16 tables between NS and EW as directed.  

There were 9 Rounds and it was evident by the reaction to each set of results that all pairs were feeling the excitement of the competition.

• 3rd Maretta Callow and Sue Eisher

Some notable places compared to their seedings, based on an average of Masterpoints, are worthy of note.

A jump of 14 places was made by 2 pairs: Sharon Bull and Carol Gait (23 to 9th); Bill Moore and Majorie Moore (24 to 10th) and...

A jump of 12 places by another 2 pairs: Marcia Gaden and Jeanette Rayward (25 to 13th); Bill Goodwin and Sylvia Goodwin (31 to 19th).  

It goes to show that the game of Bridge is not one that can be perfected in a few months or years!
