2019 Xmas party and presentations - big success!

On Monday 9 December, following our annual awards presentation, over 100 of our members enjoyed a lovely lunch, trivia, riddles and some hilarious jokes. A huge thank you goes to our committee and organisers for this and all of our other successful events throughout the year. Their efforts continue to help our club thrive, and their dedication is very much appreciated!

Friday nights' Dinner & Bridge a big success in 2019

On the 1st Friday of each month, our members let their hair down and enjoy dinner (often pizza), wine and bridge in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. Last Friday night was no exception - pictured is long-time and highly-valued GLBC member, Don Scown carving the Xmas ham for the happy attendees. Why not join in on the fun next year? All welcome!

We have five new books in our extensive clubhouse library with excellent tips and exercises to help you improve your card play. Written by Barbara Seagram and David Bird, they are well set out and easy to follow. Titles include: Defensive Play at Bridge, Declarer Play at Bridge (helpful for those players with about 50 Masterpoints looking to make that extra trick), Planning the Play of a Bridge Hand (useful for new players) and more.
