2022 wraps up with awards and Xmas celebrations

2022 award winners collage

Monday 12 December 2022 saw a crowded, happy and enjoyable celebration of another successful year of bridge. The event started with the presentation of awards and certificates (pictured and listed below). A delicious lunch followed, ending with a relaxed game of casual bridge.

The latter included a table of two of our highest masterpoint-ranked players alongside two new members who had not a masterpoint between them! It was great to see the happy mix - we look forward to our 'newbies' continuing with such force in 2023.

Pictured clockwise from top: Anniversary pairs winners - Marcia Gaden, Gil Clarke, Pauline Erby and Jeanette Rayward; Encouragement award - Carmel Bartlett; Col Hinchcliff Trophy for Most Improved - Jen Turville with GLBC President Dick Barry; Greg Simpson Trophy - Gary Marr; Hi-Lo Encouragement Award - Denise Marr with GLBC Vice President Ken Bridges; President's Trophy winner - Bronwyn Boehm and (centre) Master Pairs winners - Henry Hudson & Bronwyn Boehm.

Congratulations go to these and many other awarded members who received certificates for various events throughout 2022.

Finally, with good wishes to everyone for the Christmas season and the new year, a heartfelt thank you goes to our committee for their untiring efforts throughout 2022. We are proud and very lucky to have such a vibrant club - especially following the effects the last few years have had on face-to-face bridge nationally and internationally. Well done all!
