Happy 98th Birthday Jacqui!

Jacqui Jennings

A very happy birthday to GLBC's oldest and one of our most treasured members, Jacqui Jennings turned 98 recently.

Born on 9 December 1924 in Wales, Jacqui and her husband Derek emigrated to Australia in 1964 as 'ten-pound poms'. Settling in Normanhurst, Sydney, they raised a family with Jacqui later working for around 20 years at Grace Brothers in Chatswood. It would be no surprise to our bridge members who play with her regularly to learn that Jacqui was soon promoted to accounts and banking - and she's just as clever and sharp these days! The family often holidayed in Forster so naturally when Derek retired, they moved here. With Derek's passing in 2007, Jacqui moved into her current retirement villa, living and driving independently as ever.

Jacqui has three children, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. We wish her many happy returns and look forward to seeing her next year at the bridge table.
