Earlier start for afternoon bridge sessions - 2023 Winter months

Several comments have been received about the difficulty some members have when regular afternoon bridge games during winter finish in the dark.  A resolution was passed so that afternoon sessions from the winter of 2023 onwards will commence at 12 noon, to be completed by about 4.00pm. Details of altered session times will be published in our 2023 booklets as well as on this website. 

Free games are back!

Thanks to our Treasurer Sharon Bull, free games for GLBC members have been reintroduced. The free sessions will be shared equally across our regular timetabled sessions and will be unannounced until the chosen session's start. Visitors are still required to pay $7.00 per session. 

Etiquette reminders

  • Please remember to turn off your mobile phones during playing time.
  • When a pair arrives at a table for the start of the next round, please greet and welcome them (and not ignore them due to a post-mortem of the previous hand).  

  • All players should be treated with courtesy and respect. Two of our members have been informed by the Board that their treatment of their partners has not been acceptable.

We continue to value all of our members - participation and enjoyment remain among our highest priorities.
